LLM Cleaner is a macOS app that scans your disk for local AI models. The scanning and cleanup happen entirely on your Mac. This page lists everything the app and this website do send or store, so you can check our claims instead of trusting them.
The short version
- Your model files, file names, folder paths and scan results never leave your Mac.
- The app has no telemetry, no crash reporting and no account system.
- The app talks to getllmcleaner.com for exactly two things: license checks and update checks.
- We store your email and license key so the license works. We don't sell or share them.
What the Mac app sends
License activation and re-validation. When you activate, the app sends your license key, the email you bought with, and your Mac's hardware UUID (the IOPlatformUUID macOS assigns to the machine) to getllmcleaner.com/api/activate. The UUID is how we enforce the limit of two Macs per license. Near the end of each 30-day validation window the app repeats this check with /api/validate.
Update checks. The app downloads getllmcleaner.com/version.json to see whether a newer version exists, and the built-in updater reads the latest release manifest from GitHub. These requests send nothing beyond what any web request includes (your IP address and a user agent).
Nothing else. The app does not report which tools you use, how many models you have, how much space they take, or what you delete or move.
What the website collects
Analytics. We use a self-hosted instance of Plausible Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and doesn't build a profile of you; it records the page, referrer, country and device type in aggregate.
Checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card details. Stripe tells us your email address and whether the payment succeeded, and we use that email to issue your license key. Stripe's own privacy policy covers what it processes.
Windows waitlist. If you join the Windows waitlist, we store the email you enter and use it only to tell you when the Windows version is available.
What we store and for how long
- License records: license key, purchase email, Stripe session ID, creation date, and for each activated Mac its hardware UUID and last check-in time. Kept for as long as the license exists, so you can reinstall later.
- Waitlist emails: kept until the Windows version launches and we've emailed you, or until you ask us to delete it.
This data lives in our hosting provider (Vercel) and database provider (Upstash). We don't sell it, rent it, or use it for advertising.
Your choices
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the data we hold about you by emailing hello@getllmcleaner.com. Deleting your license record deactivates the license. If you're in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change what the app or website sends, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change ships.
